Myth: All Autistics are Emotionless

I am personally busting the Autism myth that Autistic people don’t have emotions.

Even though many of us do prefer things to be logical, we are not all like emotionless robots.

My wife can vouch that underneath my crusty exterior there is a warm heart.

I can be a softy at times.

Shhh, Don’t tell anyone.  😉

  1. I won’t. 😀
Thanks for busting myths and for participating in the hop. x

  2. I regularly upsets me to hear those descriptives about autistics, like ’emotionless’ or ‘cold’ or – as one woman said : “they have no feelings, right?” Anyone who knows someone with autism, knows that is completely untrue. There are more than one way to express your emotions, and if you do not ‘deliver’ them right on the spot – that doesn’t make it less authentic or heartfelt.

  3. It’s true 🙂 I am not visibly emotional (usually) but do feel and sometimes I think I feel more than most 🙂

  4. As the NT mom of an autistic kiddo, I feel like I can say with relative certainty that all people who actually think this are clueless. How hard is it to read a book or watch the Temple Grandin for at least a basic reference. Sigh.

    P.s. I won’t tell either 😉
